We were born out of a desire to help our clients get the absolute most out of their metadata, and for 15 years we’ve been doing just that. In the process, we’ve built intellectual property and strong relationships with partners across the industry – most of which are household names in Media & Entertainment.

Industry Activity: Netflix tops 100 million subscribers and invests $6B in original content, while Apple debuts its own original content on Apple Music. Facebook announces “Watch,” as its new video platform.
V2’s tracks daily activity and provides analytics for over 3 million titles in 40+ languages in 130+ territories across 30+ stores… and growing. Continuing to forge agreements with local ratings boards, V2 rates content in-house for 120+ countries.

2016

Industry Activity: Amazon receives 6 Oscar nominations for its original content. Netflix announces international expansion to 130 new countries. Nielson acquires Gracenote. Rovi acquires TiVo. Emergence of the skinny bundle.
V2 tracks daily activity and provides analytics for over 3 million titles in 40+ languages in 130+ territories across 30+ stores… and growing. As we continue to forge agreements with local ratings boards, we rate content in-house for 120+ countries.

2015

Industry Activity: U.S. digital entertainment spending exceeds physical for the first time. Amazon spends $3B on Prime Video. AT&T acquires DIRECTV. Global OTT expands rapidly.
V2 reaches 500 employees and expands customer base to reach OTT retailers, cable operators (MVPD’s), and distributors. Leverages title matching algorithms to create a universal ID that facilitates exchange of metadata throughout the digital supply chain.

2014

Industry Activity: Content programming goes cross-screen. Big Data changes the Media & Entertainment industry.
V2 makes a commitment to building a fully comprehensive global title database and offering robust storefront compliance to content providers.

2012

Industry Activity: iTunes store expands to 119 countries, well ahead of rivals. Comcast goes digital with X1. Second screen shapes the future of online video.
V2 invests heavily in research and development to expand its local audience ratings service worldwide. Building on its success in metadata services, V2 takes on end-to-end outsourcing to reduce cost and enable scale for its clients.

2011

V2 launches DSC (Digital Store Check) for viewing compliance in storefronts around the globe.

2010

Industry Activity: Introduction of the iPad. Ecosystem of major players emerges to support the digital distribution of film and television.
V2 actively participates with industry associations to define and implement standards for identifying and distributing entertainment assets worldwide.

2008

Industry Activity: Digital video storefronts stabilize increasing need for industry standards.
V2 improves data consistency and lays groundwork for storefront monitoring. V2 distribution services go global, translating metadata in 35+ languages. Company curates and optimizes metadata for industry aggregators.

2006

Industry Activity: Online video takes center stage with growth of MySpace and YouTube.
V2 adds service around video curating and tagging to improve search optimization and consumer engagement.

2005

Industry Activity: Need for metadata and production efficiencies increases exponentially.
V2 seeds online music market with metadata and technology services.

2003

2003
Industry Activity: Video conversion to digital is underway, pre-dating reliable distribution channels.
V2 launches with 20 employees and a focus on production and technology development services.
